Restaurant Marbore, Aragon Pyrenees

A bright and modern restaurant

The 5 star Hotel & Restaurant Monasterio de Boltana is a restored 16th Century old stone magnificent building that had originally been monastery, sanitarium and shelter located on the banks of the Ara River, northeast of the province of Huesca.

This property has been transformed as an elegant hotel and it dates back over 400 years when it was constructed by the Order of the Decalced Carmelites, as a place for meditation and to enjoy the beauty of the area. Hotel Monasterio de Boltana is an ideal retreat to spend a few days of relaxation in contact with the nature.

The Monastery of Boltana’s Marbore restaurant is a faithful reflection of the comfort and serenity that is breathed in the entire hotel. Dozens of ostrich egg lamps hang from the ceiling to provide a daring touch to the decoration.  Colonial decoration made today.

Hotel Restaurant Marbore is a bright and modern a la carte restaurant with twinkling lights, white linen-topped tables and polished wooden floors. Using produce from the local markets the chef prepares the freshest of ingredients for use in his inventive menus,  mixing tradition and modernity, with special emphasis on promoting local dishes and wines.

It offers an excellent sampling of Aragonese cuisine in its a la carte restaurant, which may be accompanied by its ample selection of area wines offered by its open bodega. Sausage and cold meats from the region are famous throughout Spain, and one of the must have are truffled eggs and roast lamb. On the floor below is the restaurant’s Salon Somontano, which houses the cellar.
