Torre Laurentii is a small luxury hotel located in the center of the charming and picturesque town of Sant Llorenc de la Muga, only 15 kilometres away from Figueres (Dali Museum) and 20 kilometres from the beaches of the Costa Brava. This place is excellent for those who long for silence and peace and it offers the ultimate in sybaritic country life, elegant yet relaxed, friendly, discreet and amusing. The hotel’s decoration transmits an indiano (a Spaniard who made their fortune in Latin America) feel, with pieces brought to Spain by the owners from their years in the Philippines.

Torre Laurentii is a lovingly restored 13th Century old stone estate house, which has been in the owners family for generations, into a serene inn, sparing no expense and with meticulous attention to detail. In addition to the exquisite accommodations, the dining is superb. The husband (Stephan) and wife (Cristina) who run this boutique hotel and restaurant are a great team who are welcoming and miss no details.

Hotel Torre Laurentii offers seven charming rooms, one gran suite, one suite, two junior suites, one superior double room, one standard double room and one single room, all spacious and equipped with satellite TV, security box, hair-dryer, telephone, internet connection, toiletries, bathrobe, hydromassage bath, heating, desk and makeup mirror. The original structure of the house has been conserved, moulded arches divide the ceiling above the bed and the rooms are decorated with restored furniture.

All the hotel rooms are equipped with a television, DVD player, telephone, minibar and safe. The bathrooms are modern and made with elegant black marble. The herbal toiletries are care of Damana and include bath salts for the whilrpool-style baths. Bathrooms also include towel service, bathrobe, hair dryer, and make-up mirror.

Sant Llorenc is hidden in the valley of the Muga river, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. It is completely encircled by a 7 foot-thick defensive wall constructed in the 12th century, with 2 gated entrances and several watch towers. One of the towers is located within the hotel's property and houses a unique hexagonally-shaped junior suite. Enjoy the 2 lounges, one of them with a fireplace, a stone patio, garden, terrace, a romantic porch, and a small stone pond.

Food & Drink: Chef Cristina passion for cooking with fresh, local ingredients comes through in all her dishes. The wine list is a special treat for oenophiles, with an emphasis on local wines at very reasonable prices (and Stephan is more than happy to assist you in choosing the perfect wine to accompany your meal). Breakfast is served between 9 and 11 am in the restaurant's dining room. The restaurant serves international cuisine and is closed for Sunday night, and all day Monday and Tuesday.

Surroundings: Sant Llorenc de la Muga is hidden in the valley of the Muga river, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. It has remained a secret to the general public, and has not lapsed into the mass-tourist attraction towns that others like it have become in the past 50 years. It preserves its old world livelihood and pace.

The Muga river bends through the back of the town, forming a small beach of cool, refreshing water. There are spectacular places to visit or picnic in throughout the course of the river. The small church of Sant Antoni is flanked by a beautiful medieval bridge. Small lagoons and waterfalls are hidden from the beaten path for those who are willling to explore. Further down the river, the Boadella lake offers several water sports available during the summer and early fall.

The mountains that surround the town inspire peace and quiet, and also offer interesting excursions for even the most active and adventuresome hikers. During the spring time, these trails are filled with wild asparragus, while in the fall, delicious mushrooms abound. At the hotel, our consierge service will also recommend places to fill everyone's tastes, from sports to entertainment around the area.

Hotel Torre de Laurentii is at the edge of the Pyrenees and just 50km from the Costa Brava. Hiking, mycology routes and all manner of adventure and nautical sports are on offer in the area. Golf de Torremirona (18 holes) is 20km away. Just  If you long for unspoiled nature take a mountain tour of the Pyrenees. If, on the other hand, you feel like visiting a town you can choose between Perpignan in the north (in France) and Girona in the South. a few kilometers east you will find the beaches of the Costa Brava.
