This lovely hotel provides a unique base for enjoying rich Catalan culture and having a restful and luxurious stay in an 800 year old castle.
Located on top of a massif, the Puig dEn Marenys, between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, the castle once belonged to Pere Margarit, a captain who served under Christopher Columbus, and it was carefully and authentically restored as a stylish, unforgettable hotel. Each room has its own style and atmosphere and from every room the view over the green and rolling landscape is spectacular.
The restaurant is of high quality, yet not stuffy or formal, with dishes made from produce from the Castle’s garden or the neighbouring farms and markets or from nearby fishing villages. The mediterranean is 15 minutes away, or you may enjoy a swim in the castle’s own heated swimming pool.
There are five golf courses in the immediate vicinity and we can book these for you at the time of making your hotel reservation. From skiing and climbing to sailing and deep sea diving, everything is possible using the Castle as a base. Castillo is located inside the Castle, most garden rooms have a balcony, Suite Pere Margarit is the principal room, Tower room has a shower and suite garden are oversized rooms with living area. All rooms have one double bed.
If you require a twin room please specify this when you reserve. There are no twin rooms available in the Tower. A delightful new annex has recently been completed.

A Wonderful Experience
Recently stayed at this magnificent gem of a hotel. From arrival to departure, the guest service was outstanding and natural. We initially stayed in a garden room as the Castle Room was not available and it was wonderful. The next night we were in a Castle Room with a view that was overwhelming.
There was a wedding in the hotel so we could not have dinner in the restaurant and was advised on Peretellada and are so thankful of this recomendation as it was magic.
The next night we ate in the restaurant and the Ravioli with Fois gras was incredible.
The ambiances, willingness to help and please will stay in my memory for a very long time and I cannot wait to come back.Posted in 2009-10-10 12:35:34
