Old-world but comfortable three-star hotel. It is family run, has a friendly atmosphere and is very central (just off the Rambla). It was Dali headquarters in Figueres and there is a lot of Dalínian memorabilia scattered around the place (photographs, prints, etc). Letter from the owner Ramon Duran: My family already has a long tradition of giving hospitality and food to the travellers who pass through these parts. It all started in 1855 when my ancestors had a small property under the name of The Celler of the Ca la Teta whose name is derived from the word aunt in Catalan, and it was here that travellres were given food on their rest stops with their carriages between Figueres and Olot. They suffered two world wars and only just survived the Spanish civil war.
Then followed the post war years and the flourishing of tourism during the 60s. Slowly, as the years passed ,the reputation of the restaurant became sealed as a vanguard of excellent standards and a reference point for many professionals and lovers of good food. For all these years the the spirit of the restaurant has been the same: satisfy the travellers and people who come looking for hospitality on their journey and we believe that after so many years of experience, we do just that.
It is for this reason that we want to give a big welcome to all of our new travellers through Internet today, and to offer them the hospitality and the hearty welcome that we have inherited. Through this web page we hope to make our house available to you cybernauts, of which a poet once wrote in our visitors book: The friendship that you have offered me is as pure and clear as the Ampurdan sky on the day of the tramuntana.
