The biggest of the 14 Cuban provinces occupies a vast portion of the isle, between Ciego de Avila and Las Tunas. In front of the northern coast the coral islands of Cayo Romano and Cayo Sabinal can be seen. A long marsh extends along the south coast, facing the Gulf of Ana Maria, which the uninhabited half of the Jardines de la Reina archipelago borders.The only important harbor in the province is Nuevitas, and the tourism is centered in the northeast around the big hotels of Santa Lucia beach....
